Catalytic Polymer Synthesis

A platinum catalyst bed cracks the feedstock far more completely than a bare reactor, drawing nearly twice the polymer from the same silicon. The catalyst fouls over a run and must be replenished, but platinum is plentiful where polymer demand is not.
