Palladium Membrane Compression
A palladium membrane drinks raw hydrogen into its lattice and releases it fuel-grade and dense, capturing gas a brute-force compressor would simply vent. The membrane slowly saturates with impurities and must be renewed, but it draws meaningfully more liquid hydrogen from the same feed.
