The Annihilation-class does not destroy ships in the conventional sense. Its weapon systems operate on a principle the Collective calls "reciprocal negation" — targeted dimensional collapse that removes matter from one reference frame without transferring it to another. Where the matter goes is a question Voidborn weapons engineers answer with "elsewhere." The shield array metabolizes incoming energy and channels it to the weapons, meaning the harder you hit an Annihilation, the more of you it can unmake. Crimson Fleet tacticians have learned that the only winning strategy is overwhelming force applied simultaneously from every direction — which tells you something about how much force a single Annihilation absorbs before it stops functioning.
