Lore
Named for an irresolvable philosophical puzzle, the Aporia does not prevent escape in any way other empires can identify or counteract. Ships within its operational radius simply find that their jump calculations never converge. Navigation systems report ready, then recalculate, then report ready again. Pilots describe the experience as "trying to leave a room you can't prove you're in." The Collective explains the interdiction field as "introducing productive doubt into deterministic systems."
