Patchwork engineers overbuilt the frame after noticing that most mining ship failures came from trying to be clever — so they stopped trying. The default armor plate drops speed to a crawl, but nobody's outrunning anything in an asteroid belt anyway. Cheapest T2 miner on the market by a wide margin, and the one most likely to still be mining when everything else in the field has gone home for repairs. The Bedrock doesn't do anything fancy. It shows up, it mines, and it's still there when you come back to check on it. Some pilots name theirs. The Patchwork takes this as a sign they got the design right.
