Convoy

The Confederacy approaches logistics the way it approaches everything: with documentation. The Convoy-class is the product of the Fleet Logistics Review, a three-year study that identified inter-system empty-hull transit as the second-largest preventable expense in Solarian fleet management. The Review's conclusion — fourteen pages, two appendices, one minority dissent — recommended a dedicated carrier capable of moving ships between operations without requiring pilots to make the return trip. The Convoy-class does exactly that. Eight bay slots, three defense mounts, enough fuel to cover the routes the Review flagged as highest-cost. The minority dissent recommended a ten-bay version. It is filed somewhere.
