Lore
The Dissolution-class does not salvage wrecks so much as unmake them. Its organic hull extends across a debris field like a membrane, and materials pass through in order of molecular complexity — metals first, then composites, then exotic alloys. The process leaves nothing behind. Not even dust. The shield array is the heaviest fitted to any salvager in production — the organic membrane requires constant shield coverage to function, and the hull beneath it would not survive a debris impact without protection. The fitting capacity left over after the shield configuration is substantial, and operators have adapted the platform for everything from deep survey to extended recovery. Other empires' salvage crews have arrived at wreck sites after a Dissolution to find the remaining debris geometrically perfect, as though something had been arranging it.
