Lore

Two shield generators operating on mutually exclusive principles. By conventional physics, they should cancel each other out. Instead, the overlap zone produces what Voidborn physicists call "constructive impossibility" — weapons that penetrate one layer find themselves reinforcing the other. The trade-offs are speed and firepower: the dual array draws enough power that the engines run at reduced output, and only two weapon mounts fit the remaining power budget. The Dualism is the slowest and most lightly armed heavy fighter in its class. It is also, by a significant margin, the hardest to kill. Solarian analysts have published seventeen papers proving the design cannot work. Forty-three incident reports confirm that it does.
