Rim pilots noticed something about wreck fields: the first ship on scene gets the best components, and everything after that is scrap metal. So they strapped the biggest engine they could find to the smallest hull that could hold a tow cable and called it a salvage platform. Speed 5 means it arrives before heavier competitors have finished spooling their jump drives. The tow rig is oversized for the frame — the strongest in its class — because the business model is to grab the biggest piece and drag it home, not to pick through fragments. No shields, no armor, no defense slots. The name is the only salvage law the Rim has ever needed.
