Interstice

The Interstice exploits what Voidborn physicists call "dimensional lacunae" — the gaps between the layers of space-time that other empires' physics doesn't acknowledge exist. The ship slides into these gaps and observes normal space from a perspective that has no meaningful physical address. Sensors searching for an Interstice are searching for something that is, in a very literal sense, not anywhere. The ship's own sensors, however, maintain perfect clarity from their non-position. Pilots require extensive psychological screening. The Collective's explanation: "Some minds find non-existence uncomfortable."
