The carrier role was traditionally beneath Pact warriors, until a fleet commander pointed out that moving ships through hostile space without getting them destroyed is itself a combat problem — one that requires a combat solution. The Iron Tide-class carries six ships and two weapon mounts, because the Crimson Pact does not build logistics vessels that cannot shoot back. Three defense slots protect the bay structure during transit. In Crimson doctrine, all space is contested, and nothing enters contested space without the ability to shoot back.
