Junk Convoy

Somebody on the Rim looked at a docking clamp, a fuel line, and a stack of empty containers, and decided that was a ship. The Junk Convoy is the answer to "how much can we move for as little as possible," and the answer is: a frankly irresponsible amount. The spine is a single long girder with cargo pods welded down its length until the structural engineers stopped returning calls. Each pod adds capacity and subtracts the will to live of anyone who has to fly it. There is no armor worth the name, the drive strains to move the load at all, and a single solid hit folds the whole frame like wet cardboard. Pilots run it down quiet lanes, keep the cargo cheap enough that losing a load only stings, and lean on the one rule that keeps the Convoy in business: when you need a wall of hold and have no credits, you bolt on more containers and you go.
