Money Pit

The Money Pit earns its name twice: once for the cost to build it, and again for the fuel it consumes running the onboard refinery. Rim miners discovered that processing ore in the field eliminates the round trip to a station, which more than compensates for the Money Pit's voracious appetite. The refinery equipment was reverse-engineered from Nebula Trade Federation designs with what Rim engineers describe as "creative liberties." It runs hot, loud, and slightly off-spec. The refined materials come out fine. Mostly.
