Parallax

The Parallax is the Collective's first production phase-technology vessel. Its drive system allows the ship to briefly occupy two positions in space-time, viewing the same location from two reference frames. The practical application is reconnaissance that is literally impossible to intercept — the version of the ship collecting data is not in the same reference frame as the version that could be detected. Pilots describe the experience as "looking at yourself from across the room while also being in the room." The Collective's training manual devotes an entire chapter to managing the resulting nausea.
