Phase Collector

The collection membranes extend partially into adjacent dimensional layers, capturing gas compounds that sublimate from the boundary between normal space and whatever lies beyond it. The phase-shift extraction pulls thirty-five percent more usable gas from each cloud than conventional collection methods — compounds that other harvesters leave behind because their instruments can't confirm they exist. The cargo hold is the smallest in class, deliberately so; the shield generators and dimensional stabilizers claimed the space. The hull underneath is fragile enough that losing shield coverage in a gas cloud is a terminal event. Pilots accept this tradeoff because nothing else in production matches the Phase Collector's extraction rate.
