The Solipsism is the perfect observer. It goes anywhere — through blockades, past picket lines, into systems whose owners would object strenuously if they knew it had arrived — and it is seen by nothing. The cloaking envelope and the sensor-scattering hull together render it absent from every instrument trained on the space it occupies. What it brings back is everything it saw and nothing else. It carries no weapons, because a weapon implies an intention to be noticed, and being noticed is the only way a Solipsism dies. The Collective regards an engagement as a failure of the design rather than a test of it. The hull is fragile, slow to no purpose it would ever pursue, and incapable of carrying anything worth taking; it pays a great deal to be a ghost that does one thing. It watches, and it returns, and it tells you what is there.
