Every component in a Technically Legal has been modified, bypassed, or replaced with something faster. The engine governor was removed and never reinstalled. The fuel injectors are from a ship two size classes larger, feeding a 200-unit tank that covers 50 jumps at cruising speed — or 33 at full afterburner, which is Speed 6, the fastest any courier moves at T1. The safety interlocks were recalibrated to thresholds that would make a Solarian engineer file an incident report. No weapons, no shields worth mentioning, no armor to speak of. Fast, cheap, and gets you there. It passes inspection because nobody on the Rim is looking that hard. Yet.
