The Vault
Crimson armored bullion hauler — a T4 freighter wrapped in dreadnought-grade plating. No guns, no gadgets, no slots to fit any: just a hold, an engine, and enough armor to crawl past a pirate base and shrug off everything it throws. Slow as a glacier; arrives every time.

Lore
The Crimson Fleet does not, as a rule, build cargo ships — hauling is what you do to the things you have already taken. The Vault is the exception they make for a pilot rich enough to insult them with the commission, and they build it the only way they know how: as armor with a hold bolted inside. The plating is darksteel laid over fury-tempered plate over more darksteel, courses deep, until a boarding crew's cutting charges run out before the hull does; raiders have been known to knock on a Vault for the better part of a day and leave with nothing but a dented reputation. All that mass has a price, and the price is paid in speed — the Vault moves at a crawl, a slow gleaming brick grinding from port to port. Its owner does not mind. When what you are moving is bullion, and the ship will arrive no matter who objects, you can afford to be late.
