Warhead

Isotope shipments moving under Fleet protection kept being boarded, inspected, and — on two occasions — destroyed. The Fleet considered all three outcomes unacceptable. The Warhead-class was the response: two weapon mounts, warship-grade armor certified to active combat standards, and a lead-lined cargo bay rated to Fleet ordnance specifications, which exceed civilian equivalents by a margin other empires are not permitted to audit. The name was assigned by the Fleet's logistics records department without review. Commanders transporting reactor fuel note on transit manifests that the ship class is named Warhead, not the cargo. This distinction has prevented three confirmed intercept responses from empires whose scanner operators were paying close attention. It continues to require noting.
